What do we inherit beyond money and property?
A name, a language, a silence, a wound, a recipe, a story, a belief, a burden, a gift. Write about something that has been passed down, willingly or unwillingly, and how it shapes a life, a family, or a future.
Interpret the theme in any genre: poetry, short fiction, memoir, creative nonfiction, or spoken word.

Submission Guidelines:
Maximum 1,500 words for prose or 60 lines for poetry
Original, unpublished work
Open to writers across Africa and the diaspora
